A little help.
Setup and troubleshooting for Webcam Pro on Mac. Developed and sold by Daniel Graetzer in Spain. The app is preparing for release; these notes describe the current build.
Getting started
- Open Webcam Pro and allow camera access when macOS asks.
- Approve its camera extension when prompted. If approval is pending, open System Settings and follow the macOS prompt to enable the extension. The location varies with your macOS version.
- Choose your physical camera in Webcam Pro. Turn on the preview to check your picture; it is off by default.
- Choose Natural, Warm or Studio, or adjust the controls yourself. Settings are saved separately for each camera.
- Open your calling app’s camera settings and select Webcam Pro. Start a test call to confirm the picture.
System requirements & compatibility
Webcam Pro declares support for macOS 14 or later. Current testing covers macOS 26 on Apple Silicon with a Razer webcam; other Mac, macOS and camera combinations still need verification.
A calling app must support macOS virtual cameras and offer Webcam Pro in its camera selector. Compatibility with every version of Microsoft Teams, Slack and Google Meet has not yet been verified. If it is unavailable, check extension approval, then fully quit and reopen the calling app or browser.
The camera is missing or the picture is blank
- Check camera access for Webcam Pro in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Check that the camera extension is approved and enabled.
- Confirm that the intended physical camera is selected and connected.
- Try the physical camera directly in your calling app to check the connection.
- Quit other apps using the physical camera, then reopen Webcam Pro and your calling app.
If the calling app still cannot see the virtual camera, email us with the details below.
The picture does not look right
Start with Natural and make small adjustments. Temperature and tint change the colour balance; highlights and shadows help balance brighter and darker areas. Face smoothing is optional and applies to the largest detected face. If it gives an unwanted result, turn smoothing off.
Check which physical camera you have selected: each camera keeps its own saved settings. Your calling app may also apply effects or crop the picture.
Closing settings & stopping camera activity
The settings window can close while a call continues. Webcam Pro starts processing when an app requests its virtual-camera stream, and stops when the final consumer releases it. A live preview also uses your physical camera.
Some calling apps keep the stream open even after you turn off video in their interface. To stop camera use, turn off the Webcam Pro preview and end the call, switch to another camera, or fully quit the app holding the stream.
